The Papelmedia GM 2006
soundlibrary contains 128 carefully balanced instruments based on the
General
MIDI standard as well as 15 different drumkits. Included are wonderful solo-
and
ensemble-strings, authentic acoustic- and e-guitars, woodwinds, brass,
organs, flutes, several piano flavours, lush acoustic-
and electro-drums, synthesizer-sounds, sound effects, ethnic sounds as well
as male and female solo voices. As a bonus the CD contains some additional orchestra-instruments
and
singing voices. For the detailed content list and many valuable tips check
the
PDF manual.
Thanks to the open file formats (see below) you're free to use the excellent
individual instruments for your own non-GM compositions or to add them to
your own soundbanks.
The well-balanced composition of acoustic and electronic instruments

At the end of extensive listening tests we decided for Papelmedia GM 2006,
because in opposition to other GM sets it does not just contain
excellent individual sounds but at the same time it's as
well-balanced as conventional GM modules. We didn't find any other GM
soundlibrary which was amongst the best sounding sets for almost any song we
tested, not just for some of them.
The CD contains the soundset in two formats:
- Soundfont .SF2 (the source format): optimized for Creative SB Live /
Audigy / X-Fi soundcards, also supported by almost any sampler software (see
PDF manual)
- VSampler .VS3: every instrument has been manually optimized in
order to exactly match all details of the SF2 playback through an Audigy and
make it open to VSamplers extended possibilities (see
PDF manual)
Please check the
PDF manual for system requirements and the pros and cons of both file
formats.
