 MadTracker is a VST™-compatible 64-track composition tool
for
Windows™. It provides a clean and intuitive interface (see
screenshots) for a powerful and
efficient approach to making music. In MadTracker you can use sample-based instruments (e.g. WAV files)
as well as any VSTi plug-in you want. The onboard effects can be extended by VST effect plug-ins, and the
integrated ReWire™ support connects MadTracker to your existing
software setup. As known from classic trackers the notes are displayed as text pattern
and can be entered through a plain PC keyboard. But of course you can
also hook up a MIDI keyboard to record your melodies.

the formats WAV + HALion + Kontakt +
VSampler. In order to reduce the download size from 1 GB(!) down
to 93 MB this version uses VSamplers compressed .VC3 format,
instructions how to extract the WAV samples are included. But note:
these are *NOT* typical old-school "one-WAV-makes-an-instrument" tracker
instruments! Some instruments contain more than hundred similar WAV
samples to capture the real instrument at different keys and velocity
stages! Still, we're pretty sure you'll love the WAVs!
